There Is More!
“The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners” (Isaiah 61:1 NIV). Isaiah’s hope-filled prophecy was fulfilled in Jesus and is now entrusted to us (Luke 4:21; John 20:21). We are the sent ones. We will proclaim good news and bind up the brokenhearted. Our message: “In Christ there is hope! In Christ there is healing! In Christ there is victory! In Christ there is light!” We Will Reach the Overlooked.
As an auxiliary ministry of The Christian and Missionary Alliance, we are committed to the four priorities given to our Alliance family by C&MA President John Stumbo: Love,Proclaim, Reach, Launch. This year, Great Commission Women will focus on reaching the overlooked. Who is easily overlooked? We find the answer in Isaiah 61:1—the poor, the brokenhearted, the captives, the prisoners in darkness. We are delighted to highlight four Alliance ministries that are reaching the overlooked.
This will be an exciting year! The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord has anointed us. Jesus has sent us—across the street, across the aisle, around the world. May we proclaim the good news of Jesus in both word and deed. May He give us opportunities to bind up the brokenhearted and eyes to see those whom others may overlook. May God do His work in us and through us—for His glory.
